Hey friend,

Let’s be honest… if you’ve caught yourself staring at your puppy’s poop longer than you’d like to admit, you’re not alone. 🙋‍♀️

It’s practically a rite of passage in puppy parenthood. We obsess because, gross as it may sound, poop is one of the best windows into your pup’s overall health. And when your little one can’t exactly tell you how they’re feeling, their potty habits do the talking.

So, what should you be looking for?

Here are a few signs every puppy parent should know:

🐾 Color – Healthy poop is usually chocolate brown. If it’s black, red, yellow, or gray, it could be a sign to call your vet.

🐾 Consistency – It should be firm but not rock hard. Too soft or runny might mean dietary issues, stress, or even parasites.

🐾 Frequency – Puppies poop… a lot. But if it’s way more (or way less) than normal, that’s a red flag.

🐾 Extras – Mucus, blood, or worms in stool are all signals to get professional advice right away.

Keeping an eye on these details can give you peace of mind and catch problems early before they turn into something bigger.

The truth? Paying attention to poop is just another way of saying I love you in puppy parent language. 💩

And if you’d like a simple, organized way to track your puppy’s bathroom habits, vet visits, and all those little daily details, I made something just for you:
